Philippines Dive Liveaboards

From £1189 per person*
Dive the Philippines with the Stella Maris Explorer
Overview | Tubbataha | Visayas | Stella Maris Explorer

There are 3 primary routes for liveaboard dive boats in the Philippines.

Anilao-Apo Reef-Coron- Anilao (8 days /7 nights/6 diving days) September- February

The Stella Maris cruise begins and ends from Anilao, Batangas, departing from the Outrigger Resort as the jump off point.

The Stella Maris leaves between 5-8 pm depending on the sea and weather conditions. It usually takes 12 hours to reach Apo Reef from Anilao where the boat will normally stay for 2 days before moving south to Northern Busuanga for one day, and then 3 days in Southern Busuanga where most of the wrecks are located. Guests have the option of cutting their 3 days short and return to Apo Reef.

Best of the Visayas Safari  (8 days /7 nights/6 diving days) July-February
From Mactan, Cebu, the ship sails north to Malapascua, renowned for Thresher Sharks, Mantas, the Gato Island Tunnel (spectacular night dives) and the Dona Marilyn Wreck.

The Stella Maris then sales down the western side of Cebu Island to Pescador/ Moal Boal. Beautiful overhangs, large gorgonians and sea fans decorate the walls surrounding Pescador Island.

From Pescador the Stella Maris sails to Apo Island, one of the oldest and most successful marine sanctuaries in the country. Healthy reef formations, several large schools of jacks or big eyed trevally are common here. The night dive is made just off the beach at the Bahura Resort and Spa, just south of Dumaguete on the Negros mainland, where you may enjoy the grounds and pool if you so wish.

Final stop of the trip is Balicasag Island. Another well known sanctuary where barracudas, jacks and black coral trees hold fort.

The Stella Maris will arrive back in Mactan Island on the 8th day for disembarkation after breakfast at 8 am.

Tubbataha  (6, 7 or 8 day programs available) mid-March to mid June
Puerto Princesa is the jump off point for this UNESCO World Heritage site, the only one in Asia that is marine in nature. An overnight sail brings divers to the Philippines premier dive site.

One of the last places for guaranteed sharks sightings, Tubbataha is also home to other pelagic species such as Tunas, mackerel, mantas, giant groupers, napoleon wrasse. The short weather window and zealous park rangers that guard Philippines diving’s crown jewel ensure a reef system that is as pristine as they come.
