Itinerary 1
Day 1: Arr Port Moresby
Upon your arrival in Port Moresby, you will be met by Trans Niugini Tours staff. and taken to the Gateway Hotel to check in for the night. Remainder of teh day free. Overnight Gateway Hotel.
Day 2: Port Moresby ~ Ambua Lodge
Transfer from Gateway Hotel to Jacksons Airport for your flight Air Niugini PX864 Port Moresby to Tari. Meet/Greet upon arrival and transferred to Ambua lodge. Ambua Lodge is high on the slopes of the Tari Valley - home of the Huli, a colourful and proud people, still largely living the same way that their ancestors did. The afternoon is spent exploring the area surrounding Ambua - high mountain forests with roaring waterfalls beckon the intrepid traveler. Overnight Ambua Lodge
Days 3&4: Ambua Lodge, Southern Highlands
2 full days of ecological and culturally based touring are sure to satiate those yearning for discovery. The Tari area is home to an incredible 13 species of birds of paradise, as well as numerous orchid species. Learn how the Huli live and how they interact with and use their environment. Day 5: Ambua ~ Sepik
Today you leave Ambua Lodge and transfer to Ambua Airstrip for your charter flight to the Sepik Basin. Upon arrival at teh Amboin airstrip, you will be transferred to the air-conditioned comfort of the MV Sepik Spirit river cruiser. Inspired by the architechture of the "haus tambaran" or spirit house, the MV Sepik Spirit has a truly unique design. With its shallow draught, it allows travel to rarely visited areas of the Sepik River and its tributaries in comfort. Overnights MV Sepik Spirit.
Days 6&7: Sepik River Cruise
Two full days are spent exploring the many waterways of the Sepik and its tributaries including visits to traditional Sepik Villages. The Sepik River is one of the largest rivers in the world - in terms of water flow. Steeped in mystery, the people of the Sepik area have fascinated anthropologists like Margaret Mead since the area was first visited. Part of the mystery and attraction of the Sepik peoples is their amazing wood carvings, now famous the world over. Overnight MV Sepik Spirit.
Day 8: Karawari Lodge
You will be transferred to Karawari Lodge. Sitting on a ridge above the Karawari River, Karawari Lodge boasts a spectacular view over hundreds of kilometers of dense tropical jungle. Inspired by local architecture and built with traditional materials, the lodge provides modern comforts in an exotic traditional ambience. Overnight Karawari Lodge.
Day 9: Karawari ~ Lae
Fly by charter aircraft from Karawari to Mount Hagen. Mount Hagen Town is in the upper Wahgi Valley - a valley with some of the oldest evidence of agriculture in the world. Meet and assisted to your onwards flight to Lae. Meet and transfer from Nazab Airport to your hotel. Overnights Melanesian Hotel.
Day 10: Morobe Cultural Show
The morning is spent at the Morobe Show, mingling with other show goers and visiting stalls to learn about various agriculural industries in PNG. At the 2006 show, there were exhibits on farming and processing coffee, processing of coconuts and leatherback turtle conservation to name but a few. This is a fascinating opportunity to learn about the modern PNG economy. The afternoon is spent taking in some of the highlights of Lae City, Papua New Guinea's second largest centre. Overnight Melanesian Hotel.
Day 11: Morobe Cultural Show
A full day at the Morobe Show enjoying the many and varied sings sing groups from throughout Papua New Guinea. An exclusive pass which gives access to mingle with the groups for a certain period on the main arena will be issued to Trans Niugini Tours clients. Overnights Melanesian Hotel.
Day 12: Lae ~ Port Moresby
Beginning your journey home, you depart Lae for Port Moresby on Air Niugini PX101. You will be met in Port Moresby and transferred to the your onwards departure flight.

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT: TBC per person (Single throughout except twin share on the MV SEPIK SPIRIT and the Melanesian Hotel).
LAND COST INCLUDES: Accommodation, airport transfers and tours on a seat in a bus basis, meals from dinner on 18 October to breakfast on 29 October, local guides and show gate fees.
